It was a long winter, dreary spring, and many of us have been cooped up indoors for months now as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. With Memorial Day just around the corner, we’re gearing up for the official kickoff to summer! We are excited to announce that effective June 1st, we will be opening to all Maine residents and starting July 1st, will open to out of state guests who have quarantined for 14 days prior to their arrival. Learn more about guest eligibility.
This won’t be business as usual. Reopening to the public means much more than simply unlocking our doors. It involves detailed planning to keep our guests and staff safe and at ease. New processes have been adopted in collaboration with the Governor’s office, industry colleagues, and our vendors. Implementation will require tighter controls and management, but we’ve had several weeks of practice now as we’ve remained open in limited capacity for essential workers. We’ve learned a lot during this time. Read more about our enhanced safety procedures.
We’ve also come to realize that in many ways, the design of our 1950s-era motel is well suited for social distancing: Pull up and park directly in front of your room. Utilize our new contact-less check-in procedures without having to step into any lobbies, hallways, elevators or other indoor common spaces. Stay in a standalone cabin for extra social distancing, or book one of our rooms with a kitchenette to cook your own meals. In need of some fresh Maine air? Get your fill while sitting outside on one of our private decks, by the pool, or in our grassy common area. Our hotel offers incredible flexibility for those looking to travel while taking extra precaution.
We understand people are still on edge, and rightly so. But we also know that travel can help people unwind, unplug, and reconnect with nature. Here are a few things we’re excited about in the coming weeks:
Our heated, outdoor saltwater pool is reopening!
Maine beaches are reopening!
Local restaurants will be reopening, for both takeout and limited on-premises dining!
The Kittery Outlets are reopening!
State parks and other recreational facilities will be reopening!
Fishing and boating has reopened!
As thrilled as we are to be reopening, we must continue to put guest and staff safety at the forefront. In order to do that, there are a few things we must ask of you: if you are feeling sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home and reschedule or cancel your reservation (penalty free). Please be prepared to maintain 6’ of distance between you and other guests, or wear a mask in public spaces when this is not possible. Finally, please wash your hands as much as possible during your stay. As much as we want to return to “normal,” it’s critical that we reopen in a conscious and responsible way.
We are excited to host you again and will keep you updated if and when we receive additional guidance from the State of Maine that would affect our plans to reopen.
See you soon!
