The Governor of Maine has issued a series of executive orders that place restrictions on the guests that hotels in Maine can accept. A summary is below, along with a link to the official communications from the state of Maine:
For guest stays through May 31, 2020:
Hotels can only take reservations by phone
Guests have to meet the Governor’s criteria, which is effectively limited to workers that are deemed essential and are traveling for their work. A relevant example is a worker traveling for work at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. For the official state communication, which also defines which workers are deemed essential, click here.
For guests stays from June 1 to August 31, 2020:
Hotels can take both phone and online reservations
The Governor’s criteria still includes essential workers as described above and is expanded to include Maine residents and out of state visitors that have completed a 14-day quarantine dating from the day of arrival in Maine. See the official state communications here.
There are currently no restrictions in place for travel after August 31, 2020.
These rules are determined by the Maine state government and are subject to change at any time. These changes could create more or less restrictions on hotel stays. We will do our best to keep you informed of any changes that may affect your reservation and we will update this page so our prospective guests can plan accordingly. It is difficult for us to determine if a guest has completed a 14-day quarantine, so we are posting this information prominently on our website, including it in our email reservation confirmations and requiring that guests acknowledge that they comply with the state regulations when they sign our guest agreement upon check-in. Please call the hotel front desk with any questions. They have been instructed to connect you to the owner for any detailed questions or unique situations.
Thank you.
